In March 2008 a young Greek Brazilian, ambassador of CouchSurfing in Rio decided to change his job in logistics and together with his Greek-Brazilian family decided to rent a 1950s colonial house to renovate and transform it into a backpacker hostel for young travelers from all over the world, and soon awarded as the best on the continent.

Now 12 years later, in a new property, bought and built to be a hostel next to the first location, a 5-story building with minimalist Scandinavian industrial decor thanks to the Swedish influence on the family, CabanaCopa is a consolidated hostel in Rio de Janeiro and in those years it has gone through many moments like World Cup, Olympics, Mudial Youth Day, Military Games, Rock in Rio, Carnival, New Year, Rio + 10, and much more. CabanaCopa now is ready to host a wide range of guests from all ages, countries and social class. We have private rooms with TV and bathroom dormitories of 4 to 8 people with bathroom or shared, considering to be reserved for a group of friends or families.
